About Me (CV)
After completing my degree in Anthropology, I will pursue graduate and medical school for an MD/PhD in Medical Anthropology. I am most interested in the anthropology of aging and the different ways societies view the aging process and more specifically, dementia-related diseases. I hope to continue conducting cross-cultural research within Eastern Africa and the United States to assess varying plans of care for cognitively declining seniors.
I decided I wanted to pursue becoming a physician-anthropologist following various meaningful interactions with patients and understanding the impact physicians with lived experiences can bring to individuals, and the system as a whole. Pursuing anthropology can strengthen my skills as a physician, and vice-versa. I am interested in geriatric and palliative care but look forward to learning more about other specialties.
